FireCuff is installed with extractor fans or vents when they are fitted in fire rated ceilings to reinstate the fire rating where the hole has been made. In a fire situation, FireCuff expands inwards and crushes the spigot of a fan or vent. This action closes the hole in the ceiling creating an effective barrier to smoke, flames and heat
FireCuff has passed the BS476 Test Part 21 with 36 minutes effective protection for a 30 minute rated and 72 minutes for a 60 minute rated plasterboard or timber ceiling.
These tests were independently carried out at the Chiltern Fire Laboratories
