Company Story
Verplas was established in 1986 initially to produce tumble dryer ventilation kits for the white goods laundry market. Whilst this began as an assembly and packaging operation, we very quickly developed our own manufacturing process to produce PVC Flexible Hoses and this became our core business. Further investment and product development through the early 1990’s saw the introduction of modular ventilation systems for both the DIY and new housing markets.
In 1996, Verplas merged with Sellwood Plastic Products Limited which introduced the capability of in-house extrusion processes, welding and forming, plus the engineering expertise to design and manufacture our own product ranges.
The extrusion division initially traded as VPE and specialised in the production of round pipes, rectangular ducts, rigid and flexible profiles and multi cavity boarding. VPE became very successful in designing bespoke solutions for many varied applications including fire rated gaskets for the Heathrow Express project, door surrounds for the Leisure Home market and multi-bore flexible tubes for Medical Devices.
In 2005, the amalgamation of VPE into Verplas enabled the Company to utilise its considerable skills and knowledge to ensure continuous product development such as point of sale packaging for DIY trade and retail, the patented Layflat Duct, Semi-Rigid Aluminium Ducting, Reinforced Flexible PVC Hose and a new range of certified Fire Stop Products.
Our most recent acquisition and site expansion has allowed us to set up our own Injection Moulding Shop, where we produce the vast majority of the mouldings for our own modular Ventilation Systems and many other Trade Mouldings for other markets.
We can therefore offer an Extrusion and Injection Moulding service with extrusion lines ranging from 45mm Single Screw to 90mm Twin Kraus Maffei machines with Baston downstream calibration equipment.
On the moulding side, we have a range of machines from 22 tonnes to 520 tonnes and with this wide portfolio of plastics processing equipment, should be able to satisfy most of your purchasing needs.
Verplas is BS EN ISO 9001: 2008 approved and whilst known officially as an SME, we still cherish those small company attributes such as intimate and reliable service, good customer care and a willingness to go the extra mile.
